Fluffy

#AtoZChallenge 2021 April Blogging from A to Z Challenge letter Fluffy:
Steve is so fluffy that he grows a big beard during the winter so that he looks like a Santa-cat. His fluff is super-soft, like squeezing a marshmallow. Plus, he's adorable. My other cats also have fluffy-feeling fur, but most of them are short-haired, so it doesn't look as fluffy as it feels. In fact, the next fluffiest cat is Gracie, who has short hair. I believe it must be a double coat because it's incredibly think and soft.

Eloquent

Booty is so “eloquent” ##meow ##cat

I know "eloquent" is an odd word for a cat, but they do have a way of "speaking" to their people. My heart melts every time Booty meows to me. He even whispers sweet nothings. That's right, he sometimes whispers to me when I start talking back to him.

Domineering

@kristenskids

Miss Kitty is the queen and you’d better not forget that! ##divacat ##cats

#AtoZChallenge 2021 April Blogging from A to Z Challenge letter Domineering:
Some cats are Domineering over others. They are all somewhat domineering with various other cats... there is a clear hierarchy. And most cats are the dominant one in the relationship with their person. In this case, Miss Kitty is dominant in her relationship with all of her kittens, including Tippy (the black one in the video above). Tippy is the dominant cat over almost all other cats, just not Miss Kitty. She's the queen. Oh, and she's also a diva cat.

Convincing

@kristenskids

Early this morning, Booty jumped on me to convince me it was time for breakfast. Still dark ##cat ##hungrycat

#AtoZChallenge 2021 April Blogging from A to Z Challenge letter C onvincing:
It doesn't take much for my cats to convince me that it's time to eat. Their favorite method is to jump on my chest and get right up in my face and do a sweet little mew. Just when I think I've got them trained to get up at 7 am, they get a wild hair and decide that this morning will be different. This morning it must be 5 am... or 4 am. Who knows what spurs this change, but it happens consistently, at least a few times a week.

Bored

@kristenskids

OMG, is there something going on?! Nope, still ##bored ##cat

#AtoZChallenge 2021 April Blogging from A to Z Challenge letter Bored:
Bored is the perpetual state of most cats, especially those who are stuck inside all day. I am blessed with a large backyard where the cats like to spend the day before being locked in for the night. But sometimes they still get bored. Unless there is something to chase (like the pesky red dot), they will probably be bored.

Acrobatic

#AtoZChallenge 2021 April Blogging from A to Z Challenge letter A crobatic:
My cat Tippy is acrobatic, as are most cats. Sometimes he gets spooked, and will jump very high into the air... upside down. I don't know how he does it, but it usually happens when his sister Cheetah runs up to him while he's concentrating on something else. It almost looks planned. Of course, I always miss all of his best acrobatic moves, but at least I was able to catch this one!

Trying My Hand at Memes: Not Worthy

Remember "Wayne's World" on SNL (and later, movies)? Well, every time my cat takes a nap, she's not only adorable, but also "not worthy":

Reflections and Kitties for the 2016 A to Z Blogging Challenge

I love animals! This is only my second time doing the challenge with this blog (I also have my main blog), but it exists partly because of the challenge. My main blog exists because of the challenge, and I had also wanted to start a pet blog because I love animals so much. So, the challenge was the main thing that pushed me to actually get it started, because I thought it would be so much fun to put up all my cute kitty photos with a purpose behind it.

The rest of this entry is basically a copy of what I put on the reflections post on my main blog, plus a cute kitty photo at the end:

This time, however, I did have some trouble. just a couple of days after the challenge began, I had to take my mom to the ER. I was visiting her in the hospital every day for a while, then brought her home, where I had to take care of her and handle much more than I ever had before. It was very nerve-wracking, and scary.

During all of this, everyone has been telling me that I had to take care of myself as well, so doing the challenge was part of that, even though I missed a few days. I really enjoy doing these posts, so it's more fun than work for me. My day job is in computer engineering and software engineering, so this blog is just pure fun for me. So, even though I missed some days, I thoroughly enjoyed the days in which I participated, even if it was sometimes difficult "doing something for myself."

Miss Kitty has a black chin, which gives her what I like to call her "oops face"

Z is for Zippy

Cats can zip around like lightning when they want to. This usually happens all of a sudden, without warning, and sometimes at odd hours. Does that make them a little Zany as well? Possibly!

Y is for Yogi

Cats love yoga. They just don't know that it's anything special, or that some humans strive to do it well, or that it's even a thing at all. They're just trying to be themselves, which means stretching and grooming. What they know doesn't matter though, because they are just so darned cute when they do it, especially that famous downward dog position. I even have a paper towel holder that my mother gave me for Christmas of a cat doing my favorite kitty yoga pose.
